Placemaking is a community and economic development strategy that seeks to use local assets to create appealing and unique places where people want to live, work, and play. For communities that have transitioned from economies centered around commodities and natural resources to economies centered on knowledge, quality of place has become a key differentiator in being able to recruit and retain talent.
